Integrated videoscope supports multiple observation modes to help enable efficient, high-quality endoscopic surgery
Olympus Corporation (Olympus), a global MedTech company committed to advancing endoscopy-enabled care, today announced the launch of the ENDOEYE FLEX™ 3D flexible-tip videoscope, compatible with the VISERA ELITE™ III surgical imaging platform to support more efficient, high-quality endoscopic surgery.
ENDOEYE FLEX™ 3D flexible-tip videoscope
The new videoscope enables surgeons to access 4K, 3D and infrared (IR) imaging in a single scope, providing multiple observation modes to address a broad range of observation needs without changing scopes and to help surgeons perform procedures more efficiently.
Endoscopic surgical procedures involve the insertion of a surgical endoscope and specialized instruments through small incisions in the abdomen, thorax, or other parts of the body. Because they place less physical stress on patients and can support faster recovery than open surgery, they have been widely adopted across a broad range of clinical specialties as a minimally invasive surgical approach. As these procedures continue to evolve, demand is increasing for high-resolution imaging and multiple observation modes that help surgeons accurately assess target anatomy within limited surgical fields.
Olympus has long supported surgeons through its ENDOEYE FLEX series of flexible-tip videoscopes, designed to provide greater flexibility in securing the required surgical view. Building on this foundation, the LTF-S700-10-3D combines flexible-tip articulation with 4K, 3D and IR imaging in a single scope. These capabilities support visualization of blood perfusion and tissue structures.

Combines 4K, 3D and IR imaging in a single videoscope to address diverse observation needs
Whereas surgeons previously needed to change scopes depending on the procedure or imaging objective, this single videoscope now supports a wide range of observation needs. In combination with the VISERA ELITE III imaging platform, the scope supports 4K resolution, providing more image detail than Full HD. In addition to 4K imaging, it supports 3D imaging, infrared (IR) imaging and Yellow Enhancement (YE)1 mode, providing a broad range of observation options.
Flexible-tip articulation supports multi-angle visualization
Building on the hallmark flexible-tip articulation of the ENDOEYE FLEX series, the distal tip articulates up to 80° vertically (up/down) and up to 60° horizontally (left/right) to enable visualization from multiple angles. Even within limited surgical fields, the flexible tip helps minimize interference with other instruments while providing the imaging needed to support smooth surgical workflow.
Helps reduce lens fogging and maintain clear visualization
When a videoscope is inserted into the abdominal cavity, temperature differences between the body cavity and the external environment can cause the lens to fog. The scope incorporates a heater in the distal tip that automatically warms the tip when its temperature falls below a predetermined level. This helps reduce lens fogging and maintain a clear field of view throughout the procedure.
Starting in Japan and Europe, ENDOEYE FLEX 3D flexible-tip videoscope (LTF-S700-10-3D) will be available from September 2026.
