Olympus Corporation (Olympus), a global MedTech company, announced the launch of the OFP-3 and OFP-3 PLUS pump systems in Europe. The latest generation includes a new pump head indicator and advanced fluid management features.
Olympus OFP-3 PLUS Endoscopic Flushing Pump
OFP-3 and OFP-3 PLUS are endoscopic flushing pumps that widely support endoscopic examination and treatment. Applications during endoscopic procedures include the irrigation of gastric and colonic mucosa to improve visualization, diagnosis and therapy, as well as controlled fluid injection for endoscopic submucosal dissection.
Intuitive handling, precise flow control and safe operation
The new OFP-3 and OFP-3 PLUS pump systems are designed to support ease of use and navigation for users. Configurable pre-set flow rate buttons (Low, Medium, and High) have been added for quicker flow rate change. Users can now assign a number of their preference to the respective flow rates buttons, which contributes to improved usability. To ensure optimum working performance, the flushing pumps are newly equipped with a worn pump head and service indicator, which records various elements of usage and signifies when the pump head should be replaced.
Furthermore, the OFP-3 PLUS offers two new features for improved fluid management. A bottle illumination functionality makes it easier to monitor the amount of liquid remaining, minimizing disruption during procedures. And an integrated warming plate supports healthcare providers in maintaining the temperature of the pre-warmed fluid throughout endoscopic procedures to enhance comfort for their patients.
Both OFP-3 and OFP-3 PLUS are now commercially available in Europe, with other global regions to follow at a later date, pending regulatory approvals including product registration and market clearance.
